So I work at a Ford dealership. Its not a large dealership but its still pretty profitable which surprises the shit out of me given the completely idiot and incompetent way its managed. This place loses good qualified technicians like Paris Hilton loses her underwear at a nightclub. The shop is a dirty oil covered shit hole that the management is too cheap to provide anything to use to clean. The techs are forced to simply walk through the fluids because there is no way to clean them up. Ford only pays 3/10's for every hour they work on your vehicle under warranty to trust me your vehicle is only getting 3/10's the effort.

I will say "ABC" trucking company just incase future employers figure out who I am.
I used to work for ABC for the past 2 years and recently they fired me. I thought it was cause I pulled off a door when I was backing up into a dock 4 months ago. Come to find out it wasn't. There is one truck that I normally drive and sometimes other people drive it too. Just 2 months ago there was some damages to the truck on the front end. About 3 weeks ago I had an accident where I hit a fuel tank on my blind side because of a 3ft. pole which of course wasn't visible. That next week I was fired. ABC trucking company has a thing where they send out a letter telling you it was a preventable accident and whether or not you could be put on probation.

My God I won't last another day. The job search boards say to get out of a situation right before it gets really, really bad so that you don't screw yourself and take the first shitty offer that comes along, but I'm too burnt to care at this point. After 5 months of searching and being offered a position in a more expensive city with a $20K pay cut, I'm too fucking frazzled to do anything. Worse, it's affecting my personal life. I snap at family and have practically alienated my friends who don't want to hear about it. I can't blame them.

Every day I come to work with immature people and completely inept managers who tell me to "handle the problem" myself, even though it's their employees. I sit next to an office that blars music all hours of the work day, and I ask them to PLEASE turn it down, only to return from lunch to have the bass turned up and my walls vibrating again.

Just checking in to bitch about one email. I know, I know, but it really annoyed me.

I sent out an unprompted status email regarding an ongoing project, and tried to be as specific as possible (I've been told in the past that doing this would be a good thing, especially regarding the unprompted part).

What did I get it return?

A letter condemning the content.

I addressed some of the content, because I know it is likely I'll be asked about it in the future. I was trying to be helpful and anticipate some questions, but received a scolding instead. It's not a huge deal, I wrote back apologizing, explaining that I was trying to be helpful, etc. The reason that moments like this upset me is because I'm trying to be on top of my work, trying to be helpful and not make the person come to me for info, but provide it for them before they ask. You know, diligence and shit.
