My dream job is a fucking nightmare!
I am an archaeologist/ lab manager. Sounds fantastic right? Wow! That must be so interesting! What an exciting job! You're so lucky! Yeah right, not so much...here's the reality:
This profession hates women. The pay is shitty. No benefits whatsoever and no hope of any, ever. Shitty working conditions. Bad management. The list goes on and on.
I have been a supervisor of a lab for seven months. When my boss told me I had to do this job, he said I could not have a raise until I had "proven" myself. That's about a crock.
Seven months later, I still haven't gotten the review that I should have back in July and I have heard no word from my boss on anything about a raise. Any sort of benefits are a far off dream that someone in my position could never dare to hope for. And I have worked for this company for over four years!
