I worked for an evil bastard who canned me 3 weeks before Christmas. He did/is doing the same thing your fuckhead boss did. All of the people that he has either eliminated or made so fucking miserable they run screaming have been replaced with women from his religious center---where he is some sort of big wig, generating donations, etc. These broads--none of whom are legal by the way--will work from sun up to sun set for pennies a day all because "The doctor requests it". Hopefully INS will be doing some spring cleaning there some time soon.

I worked for a couple Indians who thought they were the smartest fuckers in the world. Always belittling me and others. If Indians are so fucking smart, why is their country one big 3rd world shit hole and why do they smell like fucking shit??? Hmm, yeah they ride on elephants, get robbed by monkies, pray to cows and somehow they're smarter than meee??? I can see why the British fucked these bastards for so many years.

First off, I'm not racist. Not saying any of you are either. But I've had bad experiences with an assistant manager that happened to be part Native American. First of all, it's obvious that your degree is not in English. Your grammar skills leave something to be desired.

Second, what happened to you may be unfair, but generalizing about these "Indian bees" will not help you. It really detracts from your credibility. Stop trying to be a martyr. My boss systematically hires white people with connections, completely circumventing the interview process. Do I think this is fair? Of course not. But do I hate white people because of it? Give me a break! And your country is not the only one with unemployment and job displacement due to an influx of immigrants.

Third, for someone who is "not against Indians," you sound pretty racist to me. I know you think you're better than these "smelly" immigrants with their jungle degrees, but how do you know that their degrees aren't worth as much as yours? You seem very ignorant, so I wouldn't trust your judgment in this matter.

Outsourcing flops blamed on tunnel vision

Hidden costs, high staff turnover and poor cross-cultural communications are the key causes of offshore outsourcing failures, according to new research from analyst house Gartner.

The analyst report predicts global spending on offshore outsourcing services will top $50 billion by 2007 but it warns too many companies are rushing into deals on the promise of unrealistic cost savings.

The biggest mistake that is common to all offshore outsourcing failures is to base the business case solely on reduced labor costs.

"Many hidden costs--including expenses associated with infrastructure, due diligence, communications, governance, overseas travel and cultural training--will offset the cost advantage of wage differentiation," the report said.

Organizations are also warned that a disproportionate amount of costs are incurred during the planning and start-up stages and that any savings will take longer to materialize.

"As a result, long-term offshore deals do not realize the projected savings until the 'steady state' stage 12 to 24 months into the engagement. For the same reasons, short-term offshore deals lasting less than one year are unlikely to realize any cost savings," the report said.

The high turnover of offshore staff, particularly in countries such as India, also has a negative impact on productivity.

"Such turnover contributes to productivity loss because new staff must be trained and overcome the learning curve for dealing with customer applications and relationships," said Gartner.

Poor communication between the onsite and offshore project teams as well as between management and employees is also picked out by Gartner as a critical failure factor.

"Effective communications are critical in offshore outsourcing projects. The reason many offshore deals fail is because of the propagation of misinformation and confusion due to inadequate communications among the project team and its contacts, as well as within the general employee population, executive ranks and local community," the report said.

It seems like as long as the US is in charge of (and benefits from) money-making industries like info-tech and such, most American people are pretty happy with the arrangement and don't seem to mind if the policies are a raw deal for other countries/racial groups. It's as if they forget the possibility that the tables could be turned. As if to say, "Well, that's how it should be." But if another nation (or ethnic group or both) finds success and starts using this system to benefit from it, somehow, people get all pissed off and outraged.

Is it because of a sense of entitlement? As in, "Me first and everyone else can scramble for the leftovers" and "As long as my jobs are intact, those people of color can mow my lawn and serve me breakfast-- but if they come near my IT job, boy watch out!" It's much more comfortable to think of Indians as 'smelly' and undeserving of leadership in highly successful areas because it allows things to stay the "way they should be." Also, it feels more comfortable to have someone to blame if we don't end up in charge-- "It was taken from me by that smelly Indian" feels better than, "I'm so used to the system working in my favor and when it didn't this time, my ego was crushed."

I must ask, to those who think that Indian workers are a threat, "Which jobs have your name on them?" It's not rhetorical; I'm curious.

If American people are so good why the American companies hires people from overseas. Two of every three men doing research or PhD in the US is born overseas. Millions of Doctors, Engineers, Software workers, Scientists and Finance professional working in the US were born overseas and are skilled migrants. They are the backbone of US economy and not the countless millions of people who were born in US and living a meaningless existence.

One thing to note: More and more companies in the UK are beginning to realise that the outsourcing of their services to India is not paying the dividends expected. They are not able to properly communicate (not just the accent, but lack of understanding of our culture - and showing them EastEnders or Dallas isn't going to help), and people simply want to have an easily held conversation about their service. In most cases banks are switching back quickly to UK calls centers to turn the tide of people changing to banks who guarantee your call won't go straight to India. I'm sorry but it is annoying!! I want someone who can speak clear and plain English and discuss bill payments etc without have to repeat myself 10 times only to be cut off by the fuckwit. They may have a Phd, but they can’t talk in plain English, I can understand, about my finances for toffee… yes toffee… no, not coffee… I said toffee…. yes toffee… no not c…t. Lastly but not least, I would welcome well educated, forward thinking people of all races to work along side me. However bringing in less qualified, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters and the rest of your extended family is never going to make anyone happy. Dear friends whether you like it or not Outsourcing is going to increase in years to come, cost cutting is the magic Mantra for most of the American companies. Most of the manufacturing is already outsourced from China. Recently Chinese companies have acquired IBM PC manufacturing Operation, and Rover Automobiles in Britain and they are in the process of buying one of the American largest Oil company. Also India is faster developing into outsourcing hub for various Information Technology Projects, Finance & Accounting, Service sector, Pharmaceutical & biotechnology and Research operations. Call centres are only a miniscule part of large Outsourcing Pie unfolding for countries like India, China, South Africa and poor countries of the Eastern Europe.

It's not fruitful to malign people of these countries just because they are benefitted from this revolution. The Western countries have a much greater role to play in eradicating world problems of poverty, environmental degradation and unequal distribution of wealth.

They in the past as Imperialist and Colonial powers exploited these countries and responsible for sorry state of affairs in the World.

About 30,000 die of hunger due to starvation in Africa everyday. Still Western countries have tried to exploit and made money from their pathetic situation with unfair trade barriers and farming subsidies. Foreign Multinationals have only contributed towards corruption in Africa. Now they talk about writing off their debts, lets see what they can do to make this world a better place.

While looking at larger systems of power doesn't allow for an easy solution (or an easy enemy to pick on), it's much closer to the truth. If Americans try to emulate Japanese it would be a lot better from them. As they would be less corrupt, hard working and more sane individuals and would able to make perfect automobiles for their markets. And their trains would be running at a speed of 157 miles per hour.

India has already a great Outsourcing hub with IT & BPO Industry Worth US$100 Billion and will make more and more sick and racist Americans redundant to seek work in Iraq and Afghanistan. I lived and worked in Silicon Valley for 14 years. I am an American. I have been programming since I was 15 - when India was still trying to get clean water and TV.

The fact is, I watched as over 4 million of the smelly Indians invaded Silicon Valley and then destroyed it. Americans probably wouldn't care about immigration except that these smelly 3rd worlders come to the U.S. and destroy everything they touch. What was once a booming economy and full of life is now a dead wasteland of FOR LEASE signs.

Why so many FOR LEASE signs India? Look what you have done to Silicon Valley. Why didn't you deliver on the economic benefits you promised us when you invaded our peaceful and prosperous country.

As for your fake Indian news stories, they all come from NASSCOM PR. Everyone knows they are fake. Nobody believes that 'news' anymore becaus everyone has been burned by the lies. Vladimir Kosma Zworykin [technically the inventor of the first working television). Ok.. he was American, but was Russian born, and was working for an American company at the time, maybe you have heard of it, Westinghouse. He only patented one key component and didn't have the big picture (pun intended) yet. Also a Scott by the name of Logie Baird. There were several key players involved in the final wonder we know as TV as well as the American, Philo Farnsworth. It is worth noting here that all of them contributed some key element to the technology that is in the completed item.
The internet as everyone knows now was originally for military use by the USA (big surprise) but the creation of the World Wide Web is credited to a Brit, Tim Berners-Lee (Sir).
It's probably obvious that I am now going to point out that the Russians were ahead of the Americans in space exploration originally and that modern medicine definatley did not originate in a country as young as America (See ancient Greece & Rome for humble beginnings, also the Renaissance), although with their huge resources, USA were able to advance and build on the knowledge others had already uncovered, much to the benefit of many in modern times.
The thing about inventing is, that any invention almost always has more than one inventor. The building blocks are laid by many people and that is the foundation for future discovery and invention. If you check history you will see that most astounding inventions were being worked on simultaneously by many inventors in many countries at any given time. That the knowledge gained by one can be used by the other to build on what they have discovered.
Americans need not take credit for every single modern step out of the dark ages since the dawn of history as they are just a baby historywise really, a fairly new kid on the block, but one that is ravenous. Just my opinion.
I have no opinion about out-sourcing or the people of India that I would voice here, but the invention thing simply had to be addressed. I think it says something.

As for electricity, which Brit might have invented that? (Actually no one invented it but who first put it to commercial use and harnessed it?) That was first Benjamin Franklin and then Thomas Edison. The electric company in NY is called Con Edison - named after an American not a Brit. If you are going to make statements then back it up with some historical facts. As for the lightbulb it was invented also by Thomas Edison, not some Indian in a mud puddle.

The point I was trying to make was that *nearly* every modern invention of civilization was invented or at least made commercially viable by Americans. That includes electricity and the computer (and the internet).

I am still waiting for the list of inventions that have come out of India. You missed my entire point. My entire point is that the 'outsourcing boom' is nowhere near the size that is being claimed, and that 2) many corporations are not only losing money sending work to India, they are having full-scale disasters on their hands. Just check the Quark article above and additional research on the web. Last week the NTY ran an article called "The Myth of the New India" written for the NYT by an Indian author. He was decrying all the hype and saying that most of what we hear about India is a myth. I didn't say it, he did. Maybe you can turn off your TV for a second and actually find out the truth on your own instead of just repeating what you are being fed by the media - namely "Outsourcing is here to stay". Everyone said the Japanese would rule the world in the 80s and look what happened. Outsorucing is a fad. Once the word gets around in corporate America that it's not working, it will be over. So there is no 'new reality' to adapt to because there is no new reality - only hype.

And saying that something is here to stay, just get over it adapt is like saying "The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor so we should have just given up and let them take over the U.S. Yeah - that's a REAL smart position to take. Give your country away for free on a silver platter to other countries and go back to your TV and beer. REAL smart. Nonesense. Everyone said Japan was unstoppable in the 80s and that they would own the world. They have had a 15-year recession now. India is already in decline as evidenced by the need for TIME MAGAZINE COVER STORIES like "India, Inc." if so much work was going to India then why the need for a PR story to shore up your reputation? Only countries on the ropes need to shore up their image with paid for PR stories like that one. As for being "beasts" - look who's talking. People who put rings in their noses. Because - I lived in Silcon Valley and watched what you did to it. I have been researching guest workers and outsourcing since 1998 and I am writing a book about it. I know so much about it because unlike you, I am producing something instead of scheming how I can get into the 1st world to steal money and collapse companies. If you think all Americans are stupid then you are sorely mistaken. When my book comes out the whole world will know the full extent of your fraud because I was there firsthand to witness it.

Bell was the first one to transmit actual real sound as opposed to electrical tones. Thus, the telephone as we know it came from Bell. It also used a new invention called the Rheostat which made real-time sound transmission possible. Guess who invented the Rheostat? Edison. So your fake Italian phone claim doesn't quite stand up to scrutiny as usual.

Read ANY book about the internet and it won't mention Berners-Lee. They all mention ARPANet, DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) and others such as Bob Noyce who were key in inevnting the internet. The internet came from the DoD. To this day it doesn't use the OSI model (7 layers), but the DoD model (4 layers). Why is that? That's because it came from DARPA, and AMERICAN agency of the DoD. Paid for by U.S. tax dolalrs. The WWW was around long before Berners-Lee. People in universities and gov't had been using the WWW since before 1960. Berners-Lee merely created HTML a (really crappy) language for witing standard pages to display the already existing information. He was too stupid to patent it and so now HTML is public domain. If you see him interviewed, he's quite angry about is own stupidity.

Of course there are exceptions to the rule. There always are. The point was in the vast majority of cases the inventions came from America. I love jealous nations who seek to rewrite history because they are too lazy and stupid to produce anything.

People all around the world sure do want those AMERICAN work visas so they can come here to live off the fat of the Evil White Man's inventions. I don't see anyone clamoring to go live in India or Britain.

Perhaps I need to restate my use of the word "invention". What I mean was that it has been America that has commercialzied and provided the whole world with all these modern conveniences. And Robbert Godard, well-known as the father of modern rocketry provided the Soviets with their rocket technology which is where the German Werner Von Braun got his start.

The point is, America has provided the world with the use of every modern convenience while the rest of these countries have sat around doing nothing (with perhaps the exceptions of Japan and Germany). If the 3rd world workers were so great, they wouldn't need to come to the U.S. to make a living. India surely should be #1 by now with THREE TIMES the workforce of America. I wonder why that isn't so? Maybe everything we're hearing about India isn't quite true. Hmmmm..... could it be - could it possibly be that it's mostly paid-for NASSCOM hype with nose-ringed Indian call center girls on the cover of Time Magazine?

As for being ravenous. If the USA is so ravenous then why is every Indian on the planet trying to get INTO the U.S. for JOBS? Why aren't we 'ravenous' Americans trying to get into India for JOBS? Check the history of American immigration from 1900 onwards. If you look at the two graphs of immigration levels and economic growth, you will find that every single time there is a mass migration to USA, there is economic collapse. The greatest of which was in the early 1900s which caused the great depression.

In fact, today's history is a lot like then. We had the roaring 20s in which there was an economic boom, then we had a mass immigration wave in the late 1920s. In 1929 the economy collapsed. Too many unskilled, inexperienced people came to America looking for part of the fat. They wanted what they could not produce in other countries. There were not enough jobs to support all these people, the greedy businessmen of the times laid off all the experienced (and more expensive) American workers, and the wave of imported cheap labor could not sustain American industry. Boom. Economic collapse. That led to WWII after which America shut its doors for 20 years. During that 20 years (1945-1965) America had the greatest period of economic expansion up to that date. The Ted Kennedy got the Immigration Act of 1965 passed. We again had a wave of immigrants although not as big as the 20s. What happened then? Another near economic collapse 8 years later in 1973. The huge wave of imported workers didn't do their jobs and it resulted in economic collapse. Then we didn't have any more immigration until 1990 when the Immigration Reform Act of 1990 was passed. What was the result? A serious recession in 1990-1992. I persoanlly worked in my first IT job out of school from 1992-93. The company was jammed full of foreigners. It collapsed after I left because it was a hopeless situation. The immigrants couldn't make the grade. More immigrants, more recession. Then in 1998 at the height of America's boom the greatest immigration wave in America's history - H-1Bs and L-1s from 1998-2003 to the tune of 195,000 per year flooded in. And what happened? Another huge recession in 2000! America ins only just now recovering because the visa limits have been reduced once again.

The historical facts do not lie: overlay the graph of American immigration and American economic activity and there is an INVERSE relationship between immigration and economic growth. The fact is, every immigration wave to America has resulted in recession or disaster.

Now take Japan. Take Japan's post-war GDP graph and its immigration graph. Overlay the two. Japan has almost no immigration because unlike America they value what they have and they don't want hordes of 3rd worlders turning the place into a toilet. If you take those 2 graphs and overlay them you will see that there is a POSITIVE correlation between Japan's GDP growth and its low immigration. In fact, the graphs of Japan's and USA's GDP growth is exactly opposite! America's immigration graph is climbing but its GDP growth is dropping. Japan's immigration graph is low but its GDP graph has been rising since 1945 - even WITH it's 1990s recession.

What does that tell you? Based on these historical FACTS and real information, one can only concule that immigration causes recession.

And think about it: it must be this way. Why? Because immigration by definition brings only the worst people, not the most skilled. People don't want to come to the U.S. for opportunity, they come to the U.S. because they are desperate and cannot find work in their own countries. U.S. is the only country whose government is stupid enough to let them in. Every other country on earth slams the doors. No one would want the kinds of immigrants America takes in.

Think about it: Smart people can make it anywhere, even in a place like India. Smart people don't need to come to the U.S. They can make it in their own countries. It is only the worst of the worst, the desperate and useless than need America's jobs and America's money. Since they are unemployable everywhere else they come to America as a last resort. Because there is money here to be taken.

This explains why after 6 years of reletnless 'skilled immigration' Silicon Valley is a wasteland: the workers coming in aren't skilled - they just want the money and they want to be like us. But they are incapable as all the FOR LEASE signs in Silicon Valley demonstrate.

Various government statistic state that over 400,000 Americans are fleeing California every single year. Why is that? It's because the economy has been collapsed by all those 'skilled' immigrants and all the jobs have been destroyed. On top of that the place looks like the 3rd world. In 1998 before the invasion we were promised the skilled workers would keep the economy going. Instead it has collapsed. Why? Why didn't the imported workers deliver on their promises? Why are neighboring states like Nevada and Arizona booming? It's because all the American workers from CA have fled there. It's almost comical to watch how the 3rd worlder workers have to follow Americans around looking for jobs. California was booming when Americans were running it. Now it's dying. The government is drowning in debt and tax revenues have dried up due to lack of PRODUCTION. Those imported workers didn't deliver.

The historical and economic facts don't lie: countries that have mass immigration have recession and economic stagnation. If not for the #1 productivity of the American worker (check any stats on that), America would have died because of the all the useless 3rd worlders who have invaded. America's workers are in effect, subsidizing the invaders. I don't see 4 million American workers trying to bust into India for jobs.

And just ask the Japanese how many 3rd world workers THEY want in their country? NONE.

The fact is Indians, Chinese, and Mexicans make up the bulk of America's immigrants today - all countries that are unable to provide enough jobs for their own people. If America needs 'skilled' immigrants why aren't we importing 4 million people from Germany and Japan - countries with HIGHER standards of living than USA, not LOWER standards of living.

That alone should tell you something.
