Clowns to the left of me.... Jokers to the right....

This place just sucks.

I have not recieved one ounce of recognition in the three years I've been with this chicken-shit company.

Every other employee has had a press release put out in the industry media about their hire, etc... I have done over and above for the company and don't get anything but passed over and asked to work more hours...

The "managers" and "supervisors" are all so lame that the V.P. over my job pulled me out of their departments and set me up in a different part of the building answerable directly to him. I'm too good to leave "in the trenches", but I'm not good enough apparently to be a manager or supervisor.

The HR rep says the manager and supervisor promotions are just silly titles... but they're "silly titles" I can't use on my resume while the people with the "silly titles" don't do their jobs and I eventually end up "carrying their water".

Then they tell me "telecommute"... yeah, right... I tried that a couple of times... I got a lot done. Until I wlaked in the next day to find that in my absence, the useless ones have parked all their work on my desk... I accomplish one day of work ... only to return to find I'm three days behind now.

Fuck 'em all... I'm looking for something else... I'll take a 50% paycut to get out of this shithole. At least I won't have to spend 30 minutes to an hour every morning just trying to convince myself to go into the office.

Dude... BT-DT... I just found out tonight I got hired for a Helpdesk position (see my earlier blog) but still!!!! WHAT THE FUCK? The fucking resume I have lists my last 3 jobs as Management and the salaries were ranging from 75K to 138K and now I'm forced to accept a Piece of Shit $15 an hour helpdesk slot to pay my bills? the worst is theose "silly titles" those "comfortable as they rape you slowly" son of a bitch HR reps have attitude over... fuck me... pigfuckers... all HR pukes are scum.
Reminds me of my 'hero' Michael "Mucko" MacDonald in Massachusetts.... HR started garnishing his wages on behalf of the IRS, and never told him til he got a NPD (no pay due) payslip instead of a check... I cvan't condone what he did, but I totally understand it... he rolled into the office after stashing his gear over the weekend in a locker, went to the locker room, strapped on an AK 47, 6 etra mags, and when asked by a co-worker (this was in the paper no less) "Hey Michael! Where you going with all that?"... His response? "I'm goin' ta HR!!!!" I think the total was like 5 dead and 4 wounded... he went apeshit... Just makes me wish the HR scum of the world would keep incidents like this in the back of their minds... especially when dealing with guys like me... :)

I am there too. Promises in one hand and shit in the other. The good old carrot danlge. Sideways moves disguised as upward moves, except of course without the pay increase or the title, mostly done to shut you up or placate you or keep you producing the way they want you to. Titles mean shit actually, but watching someone else get a "silly" title they don't deserve can be very frustrating.
I'm not sure why this happens, but after much self assesment and soul searching I have come to the conclusion that it is not me (or you) personally that cause this being passed over. Its not due to some deficit or lack of skill, since they are continually saying "good job" it is just politics. Politics and bullshit and games. Croneyism and favouritism and back scratching.
Its like banging your head on a brick wall day after day. IF they would just come out and say "we will never promote you to a better position with a better paycheque and a "Silly" title, even though we know you deserve it, you will always be right where you are now and thats just how we like it" that would make it alot easier to deal with. But instead they pump sunshine up your ass and make half baked promises. I guess no ones holding a gun to our heads to stay, but after investing a significant number of years and energy, why should we have to leave?
