I get a visit with the queen

So exactly two weeks after my termination, I've got a meeting set up with my former supervisor's supervisor. Thank God her office is at a different site so I don't have to see the old boss. I've got everything written down and I'm trying to work on what to say without sounding whiny and bitter. Trying to get them to see that yes, I do know it's frustrating to have a new employee immediately take almost two weeks of sick time, but I had doctors notes, it was an unfortunate and rare situation, and when I came back to work I felt like I was set up for failure and not given a chance to prove that missing work is out of character for me.

I'm nervous but I shouldn't be. The worst she can do is tell me I'm full of shit, and I'm back in the same situation I'm in now. The best she can do is to take my side, fire the super and give me my old job back. The in-between I would settle for is having my file amended so that I can still apply and interview for a position with the organization if one opens up. (The better one would be for her to find me an open position anywhere but my old job site and help me get in.) I would even like to go back to my old position with the same supervisor (she has people over her that are coming in; her absolute power was a temporary thing) provided we could wipe the slate clean, but that's probably entirely too optimistic.

In the meantime, I've got one paycheck that has to last me indefinitely (including rent and bills...gotta put those medical bills off for now). At least they did pay me for 80 hours even though I was 8 hours shy - I'd already had my time sheet turned in and signed by a supervisor. They still owe me $176 for mileage for my week of training. (I've got a copy of that, too, also signed by a supervisor) That doesn't sound like much but it would be extremely helpful in the situation I'm in.

Any advice about the meeting...or general advice to get myself out of unemployment quickly, so my Christmas doesn't totally suck?
