Hi all in this blogging community. I hope everyone has a safe July 4th weekend. I do not get weekends off, and I forgot to ask for the 4th off. Sometimes I ask for the 4th off, since it is hard to deliver pizzas with so many people out lighting fireworks in the streets. Luckily this year it is on a Sunday, so I work 10 am till 7:30 pm. This means, I will not have to drive after dusk when most of the people light their fireworks. One year, I had a kid throw a lit firework at my car. He thought it was funny, until his parental unit started yelling at him in front of his friends. My dad was a fireman, so we rarely got to light any fireworks when I was a young kid. All I remember lighting was those worm things. I am the second youngest of 6 kids, so maybe the older kids got to light the bigger fireworks off. I have some old pop bottle rockets that I found in the contents of a storage unit that I bought at auction, so maybe I will see if they will still go off. They are not allowed in the Colorado, but the cops rarely bust anyone for the smaller pop bottle rockets. Does anyone have any stories about lighting fireworks? My neighbor decided to put a M-60 in a glass gallon jug. Not very bright as it showered us with glass fragments. He was the same kid that burnt down a wild grass field and a tree playing match wars. He also got kicked out of every public school he attended after grade 3. Oh well, I am off to get ready for a friday night shift at the hut.
