Stupid new ideas!

I work for a comany that is more fuct up than anyone can imagine. I'm a pissed off storesman/sales assistant and I can't believe i'm actually putting up with all the shit that is currently happening, or my 5.50 per hour wages. What am i? a migrant worker in some sweatshop?

First of all I've moved [read been told to move]outlets so my 10 minute journey is now a 30 minute - 1 hour journey, depending on motorway traffic. The fact that worked started on widening the motorway also comes into it but i can't really blame that on the bosses.

What i can blame on the 2 doofuses up in head office is the cutting of my hours, recently. "Oh you aren't selling enough furniture to justify us paying your wages!" they say. Well let me see... you've made me a storesman at an outlet i don't want to be working at, you don't even pay me the pathetic 1% commision that they 2 members of "sales staff" do get. So where the hell is my motivation to sell furniture?

Secondly the head of the companies number 2 as it were, has impossed limitations on what the managers and sales staff can do. No bargining, or making of offers is now allowed. Now originally they let the managers and sales staff opperate within a 10% margin. If the offer was within 10% of the tag price, they'd allow them to do a deal with the customer. If it was not quite within the 10% margin the manager could then offer them some sort of compromised price that was within the 10% margin.

I've seen customers reactions since this has come about, they don't want to know and mostly walk off in a huff. Even if we do explain to them, as per head office suggestions "we can't do deals as all of the prices are decided and set at head office." Well, that's just dandy if you're looking to destroy our customer base, by telling them we can't do deals when in the past the very fact that we did do deals was the reason a customer may have come to our outlet rather than popped over to any of our competition.

I happen to know what proffit margin we are working on also, and lets just say that our tiny 10% margin wouldn't eat into it that much if we did make deals.

Due to this rediculas bullshitty idea that we can't do deals, i think, more than anything is harming the business!

...but then why should they care, they can always save some money by butchering staff hours. I'm looking to jump ship, just a damn shame the job market is so impossible at the moment. I'd be swapping one shit job for another, more than likely.

Oh... and don't even get me started on all the new, mostly pointless paperwork...

Typical corporate red tape. This is why companies blow out help and customers all the time. I honestly think that much fo the corporate world is going to get a big wakeup call. I bought a computer (compuker given the quality) from Best BUy about three years ago. The damn thing didn't work and I was told that I had to buy a product service plan to exchange it. At the time I was in a hurry and stupid so I bought the service plan and exchanged the computer. To make a long story short, Best Buy's circus act customer service was a joke and that's the last computer I'll buy from them. I've considered getting an Apple but the dealers here suck. Anyways, I think that if your company is losing all kinds of customers simply because the top brass is a bunch of cheapskates, then I'd jump ship, especially if you are on commission.
