Where are all the decent jobs? The U.S. jobs report today indicated that the economy had added 110,000 jobs in September. Where the fuck are they? Who are the people getting them? I routinely search for decent jobs paying $50k or above, and sometimes I hear back from HR departments or recruiters...to no avail. I would love to meet the people that are apparently filling these positions. It's not like I live in a terrible job market - on the contrary, I live in one of the top 10 markets in the U.S. So what gives? Everything seems so fucking specialized now...but when I was in college less than 6 years ago, the emphasis was on being well-rounded and knowing a little bit about many subjects. It seems like everything I was "taught" was wrong. Anyone else feel like giving up and trying to learn a trade? Hell, plumbers charge $30 - $40 an hour just to show up. Is that the answer? Fuck trying to work hard in the corporate environment. They take and take and take. Holy Zeus. Come on it's the new knowledge economy, someone thinks of something funky and BAM 50000 jobs are added...we need to get with the program and start thinking about new ideas for the leisure industry...wow I just added 8,382 food technician services jobs* and 19,284 sexual ass ramming services jobs to the US economy in the last 7 seconds! Hahaha just messing with you. That 110K number is a fraud, the DOL is publishing shit numbers. They just said a couple weeks ago that September was going to lose 4000 jobs overall. Even if you did add 110K jobs, it's not enough for population growth, you'd be short 30 - 40K jobs there. Most of the jobs being made are in retail or the usual flunkie industries. Out of the maybe 200K jobs that were created in the last few months, you're lucky if 5 - 10K of them are any that really require a college degree. *Fast food worker According to our functionally-retarded Commander in Chief Stupidity, fast food jobs count as "manufacturing" jobs... >:( I shit you not, look up Bushisms and the DOL statistics. That explains why that ass clown and his administration claim strong growth in manufacturing, we're all eventually going to work for Wendy's, McDonald's, and Starfuckers... I have this strange theory, if you extrapolate Hubbard's Curve for oil demand into labor, you'll see we're also screwed on the right end of the bell curve as of now. There just aren't ENOUGH jobs to even accomadate the demands of the idiots who drank the college degree=career Kool-Aid. Especially when there's like HALF A BILLION college-educated Chindians who'll do the same shit for 25% of the cost... Why I haven't gone cross-eyed thinking about this all the time I dont' know. Keep it evil. Recruiting the ill-fated for "The War" Desperation provides fertile ground for religious extremism [Solo - Drover] All that they envisioned of what things would come to be Promising a vapor, in the end they become one [Solo - Drover] No rules of engagement, this enemy hides And to beat violence, you must ignore the focus groups [Solo - Drover] All that you envisioned of what things will come to be [Solo - Drover] (Megadeth: Amerikhastan) Bwa ha ha...better get the survival preps ready if this happens...never know what happens if we run out of college grads...no more $$$$ for the universities.
