Wow... Hired, Fired, unemployed again!

Well, it's been a while. I found a job at a local publishing company back towards the beginning of March. It was a pretty shitty little job--answering e-mails for the deadbeat morons trying to get their book published. Well, succeeding usually since this wasn't a real publisher. They published anything, no matter how shit it was, then tried to make money off people's friends and family members buying their shitty book.

Anyway, first week or two seemed fine. The days went quickly and I didn't feel too stressed. The job was easy as cake, and I basically NEVER saw the managers. They were on a completely different floor, and as long as I did my work and met my quotas (about half a day's work met the quota for me) there were no conflicts.

Then, one day, I got an e-mail that was just a stream of insults towards the company (some warranted, others not) and vague legal threats. I followed procedure and forwarded it to my manager. She sent me back a reply she had composed that consisted of personally insulting the guy, then telling him that the company was glad they weren't working with him because of what a little diva he was.

Long story short, I questioned how necessary it was to insult the guy (since it's not hard to just ignore an e-mail) and I DOUBLY questioned the complete lack of professionalism on display.

I was fired the day after I refused to be party to sending personal insults through business e-mail. I asked for some justification from the owners of the company, and my direct manager. Instead, they severed all e-mail contact, hid in their offices and sent the HR woman to fire me. All this happened in less than 24hrs.

So now I'm unemployed again, through no fault of my own. Well, I guess my only fault was expecting anyone in a business environment to behave in a professional, ethical manner.
